Youth Link of America is a nonprofit organization that is devoted to helping meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of runaway, homeless and at-risk youth in the Hollywood, CA area. Although our main focus is on the area's youth, Youth Link also reaches out to the adult homeless and at-risk population in downtown Los Angeles.
Over one and a half million youth, children and teens are wandering the streets at any time in the US. One out of seven run away before the age of 18. California has a very high number of runaway, homeless youth and child prostitutes. Some, known as "throwaways" have been tossed out of their homes, others have run away, either trying to escape family problems, abuse, or even a lack of caring for there existance.
For the past 11 years, Youth Link has demonstrated a helping hand in action by providing assistance and support
to people who would otherwise go without even their most basic needs attended to. We are dedicated to helping them obtain
the resources they need in order to end the cycle of hopelessness and desperation. Our staff reaches out
into the community to connect with youth in need and to invite them to the Hollywood resource center. Our 24-hour lifeline for troubled youth and their concerned parents
can be reached at all times of the night and day as well as holidays, to make sure that no child or youth is left behind.
